Scottish Government Cabinet Secretary for Justice, Kenny MacAskill MSP, has announced that he will be visiting a number of licensees, in various parts of the country, over the next two weeks, seeking their views on the the new licensing system and how well its has, or has not, been working, particularly in respect of Licensing Boards.   He is keen to hear of any problems Licensees have had in respect of their licence application.   He will be visiting a number of SLTA members and should you be selected, this is the perfect opportunity to tell the Cabinet Secretary exactly what you think!!!  

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The Association is pleased to announce that the principal guest speaker at the 50th Anniversary Dinner will be the Cabinet Secretary for Justice, Kenny MacAskill M.S.P.

The other guest speakers are Gordon Smith, Chief Executive of the Scottish Football Association and Benet Slay, Managing Director of Diageo Great Britain.

The Dinner will take place on Thursday 2nd October at the Radisson S.A.S. Hotel in Glasgow and tickets cost £70 or tables of ten - £650.

The S.L.T.A./Black Bottle Golf Tournament took place today, Wednesday 9th July,  at Murrayshall Golf Club.   

The winning team was Fat Sams from Dundee  - Colin Rattray;  Alan Docherty;  Craig Watson;  Steve Irons.

Second was the team from Scottish Brewers and third was Carlsberg.

The Association would like to thank all those taking part and in particular Black Bottle for once again sponsoring this event.

SUMMER DRINK DRIVE CAMPAIGN

Road Safety Scotland will be launching their Summer Drink Drive Campaign during July and have asked for our help again in displaying and distributing campaign materials in our outlets.   These consist of a 'morning after' poster which builds on the theme from last Christmas, showing a driver having a morning meeting with a police officer in a police station, having been stopped for drink driving.  

These will be supplemented this time with a handy and practical pocket fold out Z Card for football fans which has a drink message on the cover and all 198 SPL fixtures in the fold out section.

Annual Scottish Luncheon at The Gleneagles Hotel, Tuesday 22nd July, 2008.
